MONTICELLO, Minn. – Ned Rohrbach (Fy./Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) fired a six-over par 148 to tie for 13th place at the Saint John’s Winter Invitational. Overall, the Carleton College men’s golf team ranked 13th out of 16 squads participating in the 36-hole, one-day event.
Rohrbach turned in the Knights’ two best 18-hole scores of the season. He shot a one-over par 72 for the opening round on Sunday and followed that up with a 76 on the second lap around the Monticello Golf Club.
Although he competed as an individual, Brian Herlihy (Fy./Danbury, Conn./Immaculate) accounted for the next-best scores for Carleton, shooting a career-low 80 for the first round only to improve upon it with a 79 in the second round.
Jorde Ranum (So./Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park), Aaron Buckley (Jr./San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School), Jeff Berg (Jr./Wood Dale, Ill./Wheaton Academy), and Brian Chesley (Sr./Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) were within four strokes of one another as Carleton finished with team scores of 319 and 316.
The Knights will be right back on the course on Monday for the Saint John’s Spring Invitational. Tee times begin at 8:00 a.m.
