WINONA, Minn. – The Carleton College men’s golf team concluded the 2010-11 season with a dual match against Saint Mary’s University at Cedar Valley Golf Course. The teams used a modified Ryder Cup format, and the Cardinals posted an 8½ - 6½ point victory.
Each roster was subdivided into teams of two. The twosomes then competed against a pairing from the other school for six holes of best ball, six holes of alternate shot, and six holes of scramble. A point was awarded for each of the three segments.
Because Carleton had five pairings and Saint Mary’s only four, the Cardinals fourth group played against both the Knights’ fourth and fifth teams.
