CANNON FALLS, Minn. – When the Carleton College men’s golf team teed up on the first hole at Saturday’s triangular against Bethany Lutheran College and St. Mary’s University, it was the players’ first competitive round outside in over a month. However, this did not stop the Knights from coming away with a dominant victory, carding a 322 to Bethany Lutheran’s 336 and St. Mary's 344.
Despite the soggy conditions of the course and the tricky greens, three Knights finished within the top five. First-year Ned Rohrbach (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) was the medalist, as he posted a career-best 76. Junior Aaron Buckley (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) was runner-up, with a score of 79, and Jeff Berg (Jr./Wood Dale, Ill./Wheaton Academy) claimed the fourth spot with an 82.
Sophomore Jorde Ranum (Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) fired a solid 85 to round out Carleton’s four scores.
