Carlton MIAC Player of the Year, Five Others Honored
After winning a third straight MIAC regular season title, the Carleton College men's soccer team is once again well represented on the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) awards list. Leading the way was senior defender Robert Carlton, who earned MIAC Player of the Year along with All-Conference honors.

Three Knights Receive Academic Award
Three members of the Carleton College men’s soccer team were named to the 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team for their performance on the soccer field and in the classroom. Ross Hamilton was voted to the first team, while Robert Carlton and Tim Wills were second-team seelctions. For the second year in a row, the Knights had the most players honored in the MIAC.

Knights Missing From NCAA Championship Field
Despite a 15-5 record, the Carleton College men’s soccer team did not receive one of 17 Pool C bids to the 59-team field for the NCAA Championships. This year's win total is the second-best figure in program history, two shy of last year’s ledger (17-2-3). The Knights 2009 campaign did include a third straight MIAC regular-season crown, but the conference’s automatic bid went to the playoff champion, Macalester College.

Knights Lose Heartbreaker in MIAC Finals
Looking to win the MIAC championships as well as the regular season title, the Carleton’s men’s soccer team lost a thrilling MIAC championship game today 1-0 to Macalester College. The top-seeded Knights could not find the equalizer after Macalester’s Scott Petesch tapped one over the line in the 61st minute. The Knights certainly had their chances in the second half to put one in the net themselves, but were unable to convert on all opportunities.

Knights Blank Tommies, Advance to MIAC Final
The Carleton College men’s soccer team (15-4) posted a 3-0 victory over visiting University of St. Thomas (10-7-2) in the semifinals of the MIAC Playoffs. Senior Ross Hamilton converted a penalty kick opportunity in the 25th minute. Tim Wills then assisted on second-half insurance goals by Wes Elfman and Ryan Cammarota. The Knights will host Macalester College this Saturday at 1 p.m. with the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament on the line.

Knights Drop Out of National Rankings
In the most recent NSCAA national rankings the Carleton men’s soccer team (14-4, 8-2 MIAC) dropped out of the national rankings after presiding in the No. 23 spot last week. Last week was the first time that the Knights were nationally ranked since the preseason poll. In the NSCAA regional rankings the Knights also dropped two spots from No. 3 to No. 5.
