Knights Drop 1-0 Road Contest at Hamline

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Despite claiming an 18-7 advantage in shots on goal, the Carleton College men's soccer team absorbed a tough, 1-0 loss to Hamline University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday morning.

Carleton (6-6-1, 4-2-1 MIAC) put nine shotson goal in the first half compared to only six for the hosts, but the Knights were unable to capitalize. Hamline's Tyler Tallaksen gave the host Pipers (6-7-2, 2-4-1 MIAC) the lead in the 36th minute.

The Knights kept on the attack in the second half, outshooting the Pipers 9-1 during the final 45. Carleton was unable to take advantage of four corner kicks in the period.

Jordan Cammarota (Sr./Neenah, Wis.) recorded four shots on goal for the Knights, while Reed Cammarota (Jr./Neenah, Wis.) and Brandon McGarrity (Jr./Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) each claimed two shots on goal.

Carleton returns to action this Monday, Oct. 20, as when the Knights travel to Waverly, Iowa to take on No. 15-ranked Wartburg College. The match is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
