ST. PAUL, Minn -- Three members of the Carleton College men’s tennis earned All-MIAC honors this year, following a record-tying 21-win season. Austin Jiang (Jr./Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port), Jon Aranda (Sr./Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola), and Paul Cooper (Jr./Burr Ridge, Ill./Hinsdale Central) all made significant contributions to the Knights’ success.
Jiang had a stellar season at singles that earned him an All-Conference award for the third consecutive year. Jiang went 6-1 against conference opponents, improving upon his sophomore season record of 5-2. In his three-year career, Jiang has accumulated an impressive ledger of 20-3.
Two other Knights received top honors for their play in doubles competition. Aranda combined with four doubles partners on his way to a 7-2 record. Three different teammates helped Cooper tally a 4-4 record at first doubles. Both took home All-MIAC awards for the second consecutive season.
In addition to being named an All-MIAC singles honoree, Jiang was also chosen by his teammates and coaches to be Carleton’s representative on the 2012 All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.
