NORTHFIELD, Minn. – While most of the Carleton College men’s track and field team competed on Friday evening, a handful of Knights traveled to meets on Saturday. The throwers took part in the Lee Krough Invitational hosted by Gustavus while some of the short and middle distance runners were at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Falcon Invite.
A trio of Knights scored points in the team competition at UW-River Falls. Colby Seyferth (Fy./Banks, Ore./Banks) took third in the 400-meter dash, reaching the line in a season-best time of 50.48. Noah Laack-Veeder (Fy./Madison, Wis./ LaFollette) placed fifth in the same event. Kian Flynn (Sr./Otis, Ore./Taft) finsihed sixth in the 1,500-meter run with a season-best time of 4:08.77.
Ben Langfeldt (Sr./Dennison, Minn./Northfield) finished fourth in the discus throw at Gustavus and fifth in the hammer throw, each time posting new seasons bests. The discus traveled a personal-record 39.90 meters, while the hammer reached 39.33 meters.
Robert Wakeley (Sr./Kenmore, Wash./Northwest) and Alexander Polk (Fy./Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central) placed fourth and fifth, respectively in the javelin. Polk bettered his season best by nearly 10 meters.
The Knights will host the Carleton Relays next Saturday, April 21. Competition begins at 10:00 a.m.
