ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Tom Ballinger (Sr./Wenatchee, Wash.) posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 53.75 as he won the 400-meter hurdles at the Hamline Invitational. He recorded nearly a three-second margin of victory in the first full-team meet of the outdoor track season.
Other highlights:
Carleton’s entry in the 4x400 meter relay finished a close second to host Hamline University,
Jack Delehanty (Sr./Madison, Wis./Monona Grove) placed third in the 800-meter run, crossing the line at 1:56.37.
Ty Martin (So./Minot, N.D.) owned the fourth-fastest time in the 110 meter hurdles, reaching the finish at 16.04.
Nick Cesarek (Sr./Eagan, Minn./Eastview) edged Hamline’s Brent Nelson by 0.01 second to grab fifth place in the 400-meter dash.
