SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Four members of the Carleton College men's track and field team participated in the decathlon during the Point Loma Nazarene University Scoring Meet.
Colby Seyferth (Fy./Banks, Ore./Banks) finished 10th in his first collegiate decathlon, totaling 5251 points. He was followed closely by C.J. Dale (Jr./Fox Island, Wash./Charles Wright Academy) and Dylan Cheever (Jr./Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest), who were 11th and 12th respectively with 5180 and 5153 points.
Evan McNeil (Fy./Burnsville, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels) finished 15th with 4437 points.
Seyferth won the 100-meter dash portion of the competition, crossing the line in 11.46. Cheever had Carleton’s other winning performance, prevailing in the 1,500-meter run by more than 20 seconds (4:20.51). He posted the third-best height in the high jump, clearing 1.87 meters.
McNeil was second in the pole vault, clearing 13 feet, 5.25 inches, and Dale tied for fourth-best in the long jump.
