NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Marcus Huderle (So./Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) won the 3000-meter steeplechase and Noah Laack-Veeder (Fy./Madison, Wis./LaFollette) recorded the fastest time in the 800-meter run as the Carleton College men’s track and field team hosted the Carleton Relays. The Knights finished second in the team competition.

Guthrie Cunningham (So./Finland, Minn./East) got the day started in style with a second-place finish in the 10,000-meter run, trailing only a runner from Division I University of North Dakota.

The next event on the track was the steeplechase, and Huderle set the pace from the early going en route to winning the event for the second time this spring. He posted a time of 9:32.01. Brian Spisiak (Jr./Elmhurst, Ill./York) was sixth at 9:43.16, cutting 23 seconds off his season-best time and nine seconds of his collegiate-best mark.

Adrian Carpenter, men's track & field actionThe field for 1,500-meter run totaled 62 racers over four heats. Thor Laack-Veeder (Fy./Madison, Wis./LaFollette) and Bobby Davis (Jr./Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) were the top Carleton finishers, earning ninth and tenth places.

Hurdler Adrian Carpenter (So./Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo Atherton) placed fourth in the 110-meter race at 16.17. He later finished seventh at the 400-meter distance with a season-best time of 57.18
