Summer Computer Science Research

August 5, 2010 at 1:57 pm

I never thought I'd spend a summer in Minnesota. So besides getting used to hearing tornado sirens, I've been doing some really cool computer science research. My research group is working on this huge data set from LiveJournal and trying to find out if we can find paths between two users using the interests they list on their profiles. I've learned a ton and have loved the research I'm doing. Even without everyone here on campus this summer has still been a ton of fun. We float down the Cannon River, grill, build giant slip and slides on Bell Hill and even venture up to the cities. I've had a great summer, especially with all the volleyball players on campus this summer and can't wait for preseason now!
