Saint Paul, Minn. – The Carleton College volleyball team continued their solid start during the early portion of the 2013 season, as the team went 1-1 on day one of the Macalester College Invite Friday evening. Carleton opened up day one with a win against the University of Wisconsin-Stout, before falling to the University of Minnesota-Morris in the nightcap.
The Knights (4-2) fell behind early against Stout (3-1), dropping the first set to the Blue Devils, but stormed back to win the next three sets en route to the match win, 21-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-23.
Against Morris (4-4), Carleton even the match score at 1-1 with a 25-19 win in the second set, but were unable to carry the momentum over for the remainder of the match as they fell in four sets, 25-22, 19-25, 25-18, 25-23.
The Knights conclude play at the Macalester Invite Saturday afternoon with a 12 p.m. match versus Northland College, followed immediately with a 2 p.m. contest against the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
