NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- For the fourth time in her career, senior Hannah Oken-Berg (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) was honored for her play on the basketball court as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) handed out its annual awards today.
The Oregon product averaged 13.9 points and 7.0 rebounds overall as the conference coaches voted her to the All-MIAC team. Oken-Berg becomes the third Carleton player over the last 20 seasons to receive this award for all four seasons, joining Lisa Nordeen ’90 and Megan Vig ’06.
Oken-Berg finished sixth in the MIAC by scoring 13.4 points during conference contests and was seventh with 6.8 rebounds. Her .496 field-goal percentage ranked fifth, while Carleton’s all-time leader in blocked shots recorded 1.41 rejections per game, good for sixth in the league.Oken-Berg obliterated the Knights’ career block record, turning aside 181 shots during her time wearing the maize and blue. That total is more than 100 blocks above the previous mark. She concluded her career fourth on the all-time scoring list with 1,443 points and fifth in rebounding with 678 boards. She is one of only six players in Carleton women’s basketball history to score 1,000 points and pull down 600 boards.
She notched a trio of double-doubles this season and tallied a total of 12 over her career.
As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the MIAC announced the third annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for women's basketball. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition. Sarah Kunelius (Sr./Eagan, Minn.) was tabbed as Carleton's representative on this year’s MIAC All-Sportsmanship team.
