Ruth Steinke senior placed fifth at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships and repeated as an All-American. She became just the second runner in the history of Carleton College women’s cross country to earn multiple All-America awards. Today, she led the Knights to a 17th-place finish in the team competition.

Both the Carleton College men’s and women’s cross country teams will be represented at the 2015 NCAA National Championships this Saturday, Nov. 21. The women’s team earned an automatic bid to nationals after finishing second at the NCAA Central Region Championships last weekend. On the men’s side, seniors Hart Hornor and Jonah Barry were individual qualifiers after ranking among the region’s top seven performers not on a team going to the national championship meet.

The impressive season continued for the nationally-ranked Carleton College women’s cross country team at the NCAA Central Region Championships on Saturday. Led by Ruth Steinke successfully defending her regional championship title, the Knights narrowly finished in second place behind St. Thomas at the NCAA Central Regional Championships. That result guarantees the Knights a return trip to next weekend’s NCAA National Championships.

On the heels of the Carleton College women’s cross country team capturing another conference team title, Knights head coach Donna Ricks was recognized by her peers with her third-straight MIAC Women's Cross Country Coach-of-the-Year award.

The Carleton College Women’s Cross Country team competed against rival St. Olaf College in the annual Karhu Shoe Race on Wednesday. The Oles won the competition finishing with 26 points compared to the Knights 30 points.

Thanks to the strength of having four runners earn All-MIAC distinction by finishing in the top 15, the Carleton College women’s cross country team won its third straight MIAC Championships title. This is the Knights' eighth overall MIAC title and fourth over the last five years.
