Northfield, Minn.––The Carleton College women’s golf team has announced that Grace Gilmore (Edina, Minn.) has agreed to attend the College and plans to participate as a member of the Knights’ golf team in the fall of 2012.
Gilmore, named to the 2011 Minnesota State High School Golf Coaches Association all-state squad, is a two-time all-conference performer and varsity team member at Edina High School since her eighth-grade year. She captured her Section 6 AAA individual title in 2010 and finished runner-up at the same event last season. A three-time participant in the Minnesota Class AAA Girls Golf Championships, she helped the Hornets to a third-place finish in 2009 and a runner-up finish in 2010. She participated in the state tournament as an individual a year ago. Her top finish at state came in 2010, when she ended ninth. She is also the four-time defending girls junior champion at Edina Country Club.
She’ll join a Knights squad in 2012-13 that is currently ranked No. 17 in Division III and expects to return four of five starters from the 2011-12 season.
