Four Knights Receive Conference Honors
Four Carleton College women’s soccer players were recognized by the MIAC for their work this season, which included the Knights’ second consecutive MIAC Playoff crown and a return trip to the NCAA tournament. Sophomores Rachel Foran and Niki Tomita were voted to the All-MIAC squad, while Kate Trenerry and Abby Wills received all-conference honorable mention.

Knights Wins MIAC Playoffs, Head Back to NCAA Tournament!

Niki Tomita notches her second hat trick over the last 10 days to propel the Carleton College women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Macalester College in the finals of the MIAC Playoffs. With the win, the Knights clinch the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the second straight year.

Thunder’s Lightning-Fast Start Knocks Knights From NCAA Tourney
For the second consecutive year, the Carleton College women’s soccer team (10-6-5) saw its season end with a loss to Wheaton College (Ill.) in the NCAA Tournament. Trailing by three goals for much of today’s match, the Knights played to the final whistle and got a 90th minute goal by sophomore forward Cassie Burke in the 3-1 loss.

Watch the Knights Battle Wheaton at the NCAA Tournament
Watch the live video webcast as the Carleton College women’s soccer team (10-5-5) opens play at the NCAA Division III Championships. The Knights face national No. 24 Wheaton College (Ill.) at 1:30 p.m. in the opening round of action. The Knights and Thunder (15-4-1) have played four times over the last two seasons, including a 2-1 Wheaton victory in the Elite Eight of the 2008 national tournament. The Carleton-Wheaton winner returns to the field at 1 p.m. on Saturday to face host University of Chicago, which defeated Aurora University, 2-0, earlier today. The Knights' Twitter feed will also have updates throughout the afternoon.

Tomita Tabbed MIAC Player of the Week
After scoring four goals in the MIAC playoffs, Carleton women’s soccer forward Niki Tomita (So./Redwood City, Calif./Woodside) was named MIAC player of the week for the second straight week.

Knights to Face Wheaton in NCAA Opener
The Carleton College women’s soccer team (10-5-5) will face a familiar foe when the Knights open play in the NCAA Division III Championships at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13. Carleton will play Wheaton College (Ill.) for the fourth time over the last two seasons. The Thunder (15-4-1) defeated the Knights by a 2-1 score when these programs met in the Elite Eight of the 2008 national tournament. The Carleton-Wheaton winner returns to the field at 1 p.m. on Saturday to to face the victor of the first-round matchup between Aurora University and host University of Chicago.
