Northfield, Minn. - Erica Bolan scored her second goal of the year and Stephanie Johnson added a second-half insurance goal as Carleton got back to its winning ways by defeating Bethel, 2-0.
Bolan tallied in the 15th minute off an assist from classmate Elizabeth Marsters. Carleton controlled play for most of the match, holding an 49-4 edge in shots. Stephanie Lee, normally a starting defender for the Knights, picked up the win in net for the Knights (7-6-0, 5-3-0 MIAC), making one save in her goal-keeping debut.
Johnson tallied her team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 65th minute, gathering in a cross from Caroline Conrad for the score.
Carleton tallied what is believed to be a school-record 49 shots, 20 of which were on goal. Bethel's Jennie Pulford tallied a fantastic 18 saves in net for the Royals (0-15-0, 0-8-0 MIAC).
Carleton returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 21, hosting Grinnell College (Iowa).
