Becca Dole (Boulder, Colo.) and Elizabeth Marsters (Denver/ Kurt Denver School) both scored their first collegiate goal, but the Knights were unable to get the game winner and tied Augsburg College 2-2.
Just six minutes into the Becca Dole took a rebound off the crossbar and beat goalkeeper Laura Hoffman.
The Auggies countered with a goal of their own, but right before halftime Marsters received a pass from Stephanie Johnson (Tiburon, Calif./ Redwood) and put Carleton up 2-1.
The Knights continued to dominate play in the second half, but a breakaway in the 73rd minute led to the tying goal for Augsburg. Carleton had several good chances late in the second half and in overtime, but did not find the back of the net.
The Knights outshot Augsburg 24 to nine and twelve of those shots were on goal.
The tie made Carleton’s record 5-3-1 in the MIAC and left them with an outside chance to make the conference playoffs if they win upcoming games against Macalester College and St. Olaf College.
