Knights Dominate Double Dual in Winona

WINONA, Minn. – The Carleton College women’s swimming and diving team posted the fastest time in all but one event as the Knights cruised to dual meet victories over Saint Mary’s University and Augsburg College. Claire Wilson (So./Franklin, Ind./Franklin) earned the Knights’ “Can of Corn – Swimmer of the Meet” honors after recording personal-best times in her main events, the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke.

Wilson opened the day with a leg on the Knights’ victorious 200-yard medley relay. She finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:17.82 and concluded the day with a third-place showing in the 200 breaststroke, touching the wall at 2:51.43.

Milana Socha (So./Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) was the lone winner of two individual events as she placed first in both the 100- and 200-yard freestyle, including a season-best time at the longer distance.

Michaela Hahn (So./Berkeley, Calif./College Prep) won the 200-yard butterfly and Allison Coogan (Fy./River Forest, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) took top honors in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:41.12.

The Knights will host their final home dual meet of the season next Saturday, Jan. 28 as Carleton hosts St. Olaf College. It will be senior day at Thorpe Pool for both programs. Competition is slated for 2 p.m., and Knights Online will carry a live video stream.
