ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Carleton College women’s swimming and diving team won both halves of a double dual meet against Hamline University and host St. Catherine University. In total the Knights earned a dozen first-place finishes against the Wildcats and 14 top placements against Hamline. Senior Kiva Oken (Portland, Ore./Woodrow Wilson) was recognized as the women's swimmer-of-the-meet for her strong swims in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events, finishing third in both races.
Carleton beat St. Catherine 203-91 and bested Hamline 236-39.
The 200-yard medley relay of Kale Zicafoose (Jr./Omaha, Neb.), Kate Alexander (Sr./Tigard, Ore./Tualatin), Maggie Alexander (So./Tigard, Ore./Tualatin) and Sophie Anna Pilhofer (Fy./Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Visitation) established a team season-best time of 1:54.82. All four added at least one individual event victory as well.
Kelsey Ihinger (Sr./Eden Prairie, Minn.) was a double-event winner, touching the wall first in both the 1000-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly.
First-years Molly Spence (Tacoma, Wash.), Maddie Epping (Eden Prairie, Minn.), and Grace Cromier (Rockford, Ill./Boyland Catholic) took top honors in the 200 freestyle, 200 backstroke and 200 IM, respectively.
The evening concluded with another relay victory. Maggie Alexander, Zicafoose, Louise Buckler (Jr./Blaine, Minn./St. Paul Academy), and Spence finished the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:46.76.
This double dual meet marked the final competitions for the team during the fall academic term.
