DAY 1 RECAP

Sophie Pilhofer, Women's Swimming and Diving headshotSHENANDOAH, Texas – Day two of the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships saw Sophie Pilhofer (Sr./Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Visitation) back in the water, this time to compete in the 100-yard butterfly.

She would be hard pressed to match her performance from Wednesday that saw the senior pick up All-America distinction with her third-place swim in the 50-yard freestyle.

Pilhofer was seeded 26th out of 29 entrants in the 100 butterfly and did not advance to the finals despite touching the wall at 58.00 to establish a new personal record.

She will have a day away from competition on Friday before concluding her collegiate career with the 100-yard freestyle on Saturday.

The NCAA Championships run through Saturday and are being held at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas. Each day includes the preliminary round beginning at 10 a.m. (CDT). The finals get underway at 6 p.m. (CDT) and include the top 16 finishers from the prelims with spots 1-8 taking part in the championship final while slots 9-16 race in the consolation heat.

Live Video of each session of the championships is available on NCAA.com. Live Results are posted on CollegeSwimming.com
