BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Carleton College women’s tennis team continues to possess an unblemished record after posting a 9-0 victory over Macalester College. Five Knights contributed victories in both singles and doubles action.

The Knights opened the match by sweeping doubles in a lopsided fashion. Carleton’s regionally-ranked tandem of Anne Lombardi (So./Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) and Kathryn Schmidt (Sr./Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins) prevailed 8-1 at first doubles.

Bridget Doyle (Jr./Mendota Heights, Minn./Visitation) and Molly Hemes (So./Green Bay, Wis./Preble) added an 8-0 triumph, while Felicity Flesher (So./Oxford, Miss./Oxford) and Erin Wilson (So./Novato, Calif./Marin Academy) notched the 8-1 win at third doubles.

All six singles matches went Carleton’s way in straight sets.

The Knights, ranked No. 21 in the nation, have now won their four matches this year by a combine 35-1 score.

Carleton takes on St. Catherine University on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. That match will be played at West Hills Tennis & Fitness Center in Owatonna, Minn.
