Knights Blank Cardinals to Stay Perfect in MIAC Play

LAKEVILLE, Minn. – The Carleton College women’s tennis team (5-1, 4-0 MIAC) remains undefeated in conference action after the Knights posted another 9-0 decision, this time over Saint Mary’s University on Friday night.

After sweeping doubles, Carleton won all six singles matches in straight sets. Joyce Yu (Fy./Taipei, Taiwan/Taipei American School) won her match 6-0 and 6-0, while Bridget Doyle (Sr./Mendota Heights, Minn./Visitation), Molly Hemes (Jr./Green Bay, Wis./Preble), and Claire Spencer (Fy./Newport News, Va./Menchville) each dropped only a single game.

Mikayla Becich (Fy./Bradfordwoods, Pa./North Allegheny) and Grace Davis (Fy./Neenah, Wis./Neenah) won handily at the other two spots and combined for an 8-2 victory at first doubles.

Carleton will take on Bethel University next Saturday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. That match will be held at LifeTime Fitness in Lakeville, Minn.
