    Seven Knights Earn All-Region Honors Ahead of NCAA Championships

    Seven athletes from the Carleton College men’s and women’s track and field teams earned All-Region awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their performances during the 2016 outdoor track and field season. All seven Knights will also compete at the NCAA Championships from May 26-28.

    Simon Says… Run Fast and Qualify for Nationals

    Two members of the Carleton College women’s track and field team traveled to Wisconsin to compete at the NCAA Qualifier last chance meet hosted by UW-La Crosse. Reilly Simon broke the school record in the 400-meter dash and looks to have secured her spot at the upcoming NCAA Championships. Ruth Steinke likely already had a bid to Nationals locked up, so she used the meet as an opportunity to stay sharp.

    Seniors Shine as Knights Finish Second at MIAC Championships

    Led by a strong showing by members of its senior class, the Carleton College women’s track and field team took second place at the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Knights won four events over the two-day competition and matched their best-ever placement in the team standings. Among the victories on day two was a historic triumph for senior Ruth Steinke in the steeplechase. Meanwhile, classmate Amelia Campbell was the high point scorer at the conference meet, scoring an incredible 38.5 points.

    Despite cool and windy conditions, the Carleton College women’s track and field team turned in four all-conference performances during the first day of action at the MIAC Outdoor Championships.

    Campbell Secures MIAC Athlete-of-the-Week Honor

    Carleton College's Amelia Campbell continued her remarkable MIAC career with a stirring performance in the conference multi-event championships. The Knights' senior won her third-straight MIAC Heptathlon title, with the second-best score in MIAC Championships history (trailing only her performance from 2014) and the top score in the nation this season. For her performance, Campbell secured her second-straight MIAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week award, the final honor of the 2016 season.

    2016 MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Preview

    The Carleton College men’s and women’s track teams head to Collegeville, Minn. for the MIAC Outdoor Championships on May 13-14. The Carleton men finished fourth last year and are coming off a fifth-place showing at the conference indoor meet in March. The women’s team also took fourth place a year ago and finished in sixth place at this year’s MIAC Indoor Championships. Competition at this year’s meet begins at 2:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday
