About the Program

Simone Childs-Walker, Alison Smyth, women's track & field action 

During the 2012-13 indoor and outdoor seasons, 11 Knights earned All-MIAC honors, including two individual titles. In the past 17 years, head coach Donna Ricks has guided the Knights to strong MIAC finishes as she’s coached three national champions and numerous All-Americans.

Five Carleton athletes have earned a total of 17 All-American honors over the past 11 seasons, with Kelly Lovett '11 collecting three All-America citations and Simone Childs-Walker '12 accumulating 10 more on the track. Lovett turned in the program's seventh national-title performance, winning the crown for the javelin in 2011. Aminah Ricks '94 captured the 100-meter national title in 1994 and Sandra Helquist '00 raced to victory in the 400-meter hurdles at the 1999 NCAA Division Championships. Kelly Lovett '11 turned in the program’s seventh national title performance when she won the national crown for the javelin in 2011.
