LA CROSSE, Wis. — Junior Laura Roach (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) and first-year Claire Franco (Brunswick, Maine) competed at the NCAA Qualifier, a last chance meet hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Both Knights improved their NCAA provisional times but narrowly missed qualifying for the national meet.
Roach won the 3000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:54.35, which ranked her 22nd on the national list and is less than one second from the last spot at the NCAA Championships.
Franco posted a season-best 400-meter dash, with a time of 57.24, which currently tied her for 27th in the nation, only 0.06 second from the last spot in the field at nationals.
