ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Carleton College women’s track and field team sent a portion of the squad to compete at the Hamline Invitational. A trio of Knights took part in the 1500-meter run, while the others raced in the 5000-meter run. The meet included competitors from 17 schools, including Division I programs from North Dakota State and the University of Minnesota.
At the longer distance, Ruth Steinke (Fy./Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) and Colette Celichowski (So./Shorewood, Minn./Minnetonka) placed seventh and eighth overall out of 59 finishers. Steinke finished at 17:55.52 with Celichowski crossing the line exactly 10 seconds later.
Aurora Janes (So./Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin), Aly Wisekal (Jr./East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville), Adrienne Bruder (Jr./Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City Central), and Morgan Richmond (Fy./Edmonds, Wash./Lakeside School) also competed in the 5K.
Jordan Pruszenski (Fy./Anchorage, Ala./Robert Service), Emily Longley (Fy./St. Paul, Minn./Blake School), and Erin Roth (Fy./Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) competed in the 110-racer field for the 1500-meter run.
The Knights are slated to take part in the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Invitational on Saturday, April 13.
