MANKATO, Minn. – After a pair of victories on Friday night—including Amelia Campbell’s (So./Sturgeon Bay, Wis./Sturgeon Bay) record-setting performance in the pentathlon—the Carleton College women’s track and field team finished up competition at the MSU-Mankato Open on Saturday with another handful of top-notch performances.
The field at this meet included mostly NCAA Division II athletes as well as a handful of competitors from Division III institutions.
Fresh off her victory in the 3000-meter run on Friday, Ruth Steinke (So./Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) claimed second place in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:04.98.
Colette Celichowski (Jr./Shorewood, Minn./Minnetonka) took second in the mile with a time of 5:05.93. She was the lone Division III race in the top 10.
Third place in the 600-meter run went to Ellie Wilson (Jr./Roseville, Minn./Roseville). Her time of 1:39.94 ranked right behind a pair of racers from Minnesota State-Mankato.
In her second collegiate meet, Emma Grisanzio (Fy./Carol Stream, Ill./Wheaton North) was busy. She was the top D-III finisher in the 200-meter dash (27.67) and 400-meter dash (1:02.10). Grisanzio put in a solid performance of 1.53 meters in the high jump.
Next week, it’s the Knights’ turn to host as they welcome a slew of competitors to the Recreation Center for the Carleton Invitational on Friday, Feb. 7.
