ST. PAUL, Minn. – In the final competition before next weekend’s conference championships, about two-thirds of the Carleton College women’s track and field team participated in the Meet of the UnSaintly, an unscored contest hosted by Hamline University. Carleton’s top showings came in the 800-meter run and the field events.
Colette Celichowski (So./Shorewood, Minn./Minnetonka) and Haley Johnson (Sr./Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper) finished sixth and seventh overall—and second and third among Division III racers—in the 800-meter run. Celichowski established a personal best with a time of 2:17.49, the third-best time in the MIAC this season and a half-second in front of Johnson on this day.
Avery Johnson (So./Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal) and placed fifth in the javelin throw with a distance of 30.62 meters. Jessa Youso (Sr./Virginia, Minn./Virginia) recorded season bests in the javelin (30.14 meters) and discus (33.24 meters).
The Knights will next take part in the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by University of St. Thomas on May 10-11.
