8:30 a.m. NSW: Pathways Of Civic Engagement Panel
Concert Hall: Did you volunteer while in high school? Want to know how to get involved at college? At Carleton, civic engagement encompasses a wide array of opportunities, both curricular and co-curricular. Hear students, staff, and community partners talk about their diverse experiences. Find out what opportunities will fit with your passions and interests. This event is sponsored by the Center for Community and Civic Engagement (CCCE).

11:30 a.m. NSW: Library Tours
Gould Library Lobby: You may have seen part of the Gould Library during previous visits, but now it’s time to see the whole thing. Join us for a chance to explore all the nooks and crannies of the libe and learn how to get reserves, books, journal articles, DVDs, reference help and more. Discover our many different collections the best hidden study areas and napping couches.
11:30 a.m. NSW: Arboretum Tour
Arb Kiosk, Rec Center: Hike a small slice of the Lower Arboretum to learn about the restoration work the College is doing in this 880 acre nature preserve. We won’t have time to share the whole place with you, but hope to give you enough information to encourage you to explore more of the 15 miles of trails on your own. This tour departs from the kiosk in front of the Recreation Center.
11:30 a.m. NSW: Music Auditions
12:00 noon NSW: Lunch with your NSW Group

1:00 p.m. Migrating Your Course Materials to Moodle 2
CMC 110: Use this hour to walk through backing up and restoring previous content from the Moodle Archives to Moodle 2.
1:30 p.m. NSW: Academic Success
Concert Hall: Come listen to a panel of faculty from a range of disciplines. They will share their thoughts on academics, the first term, faculty expectations, study habits, office hours, and general strategies for thriving, not just surviving, at Carleton. The panel will save some time for Q & A, so get your questions ready!
2:30 p.m. NSW: Academic Fair
Recreation Center: Talk with faculty and student departmental advisers about course selection, placement, and anything else that’s on your mind. If you have been assigned or plan to have a work study position, this is the perfect time to complete your employment paperwork.
3:00 p.m. Grants Office Hours for Faculty & Staff
Sayles-Hill Great Space: Discuss grant ideas with Christopher Tassava, Associate Director of CFR. No "reservations" needed; just be ready to talk about your project.

Boliou 104: Come watch President Obama's acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention with fellow students interested in political activism!!
8:00 p.m. NSW: Gould Library Mystery
Gould Library: There’s a mystery to be solved in the “Libe”! Come to the library for food, prizes, darkness, and mystery mayhem. Space is limited to 100 students, so come early!
9:00 p.m. NSW: Residence Hall Socials
Various Locations: This is a chance meet residents of your hall, beyond your floor mates, and your Residence Life staff. Your Resident Assistant (RA) will inform you of your hall social location at your first floor meeting.
