Government & Politics: US

This workshop is geared to helping teachers understand the basic nuts and bolts of the AP* Government curriculum and exam. This includes reviewing past AP* multiple choice exams, free response questions and content chapters. Skills, content and sharing of ideas will be the main focal point of this workshop. Specific topics to be covered will be sequencing, buzzwords and vocabulary, creating appropriate exam questions, importance of graph analysis and, finally, the overall structure of the course.

 Vanessa

Vanessa Lal Steinkamp serves as a consultant for the College Board* in United States American Government and Politics. She has been a reader for the AP* Government and Politics Exam since 2001. She received her undergraduate degree from Tulane University with a double major political science and history, a masters degree in Education from Northwestern University and a masters degree in Government and Politics from University of Virginia. She is also a recipient of the James Madison Felllowship award for Illinois in 2002. She has taught at Adlai E. Stevenson High School since 1998. She has taught AP* United States Government and Politics since 2000. She has taught over 1000 students in the course of the years.
