Chemistry: First-Time Teachers

This workshop is specifically intended for first-time AP* Chemistry teachers or those with just one to three years of experience teaching AP* Chemistry, and will be jointly taught by a Carleton professor and an experienced AP* Chemistry teacher. The morning classes will consist of lecture discussions and homework discussions, while the afternoon sessions will be devoted mainly to laboratory work. The selected AP* laboratory exercises have been designed to be reasonably economical and suited to high school time frames. Topics will include bonding, kinetics, and equilibria.
