French Language

We will examine the objectives of the current AP* examination and how to reach them within the context of a curriculum focused on the ACTFL standards.   We will focus on two main areas.  The first one will be the presentation, by the instructor and the participants of very practical tips to help our students prepare for each section of the test. Secondly, we will look at some activities based on cultural or linguistic artifacts (short stories, films, etc.) that can be used in an upper level course to generate enthusiasm among our students, as well as to stimulate accuracy and fluency in their language use. As we study these practices, we will reflect on issues of curriculum for the AP* French class, as well as on the French language program within our respective schools.
