Music Theory

In this four-day workshop, we will explore the curricular issues for music theory as demonstrated on the AP* Music Theory Exam. Topics to be covered include: aural skills pedagogy (ear training and sight singing), harmonic theory (chord progression and part-writing), and analysis of repertoire, both in the classical and popular styles. By the end of the workshop, participants will develop pedagogical approaches to these topics at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels.
