[ACT was established in 1985 to offer challenging and rewarding volunteer programs for Carleton students. ACT's mission is to involve and support individuals of varied backgrounds and interests in service opportunities which meet real community needs, while creating mutual awareness and respect between volunteers and the community. Through co-curricular service opportunities and academic civic engagement, ACT seeks to foster sustained and thoughtful action towards social change. Currently, there are over 35 ongoing service programs representing diverse issue areas in the Northfield, Faribault, and Twin Cities communities.]
