Periodic or Weekly Commitment
Faribo Project is one of Carleton's longest running service programs. The program provides an opportunity to befriend adults with developmental disabilities who are living in a local small group home. Volunteers get together for a weekly visit and spend time with residents, engaging them in games, musical entertainment, and craft-making, with a special event field trip once per term.
~ From the Volunteers ~
When they come over to the house, volunteers are welcomed by staff in the brightly-lit kitchen and go meet "the guys," who are always excited when their guests visit. They talk, they listen to music, they play BINGO with prizes. One of the residents might take out his guitar, and another might show the volunteers some pictures on his camera. Mostly, they just have a good time.
