Periodic Commitment

Alternatives to Violence (AVP) is an internationally recognized program. AVP non-violence training uses experiential activities and dialogue to engage participants in actively addressing the problems of violence in their own lives and in the world. Friends for a Non-Violent World conducts AVP training locally in the Faribault State Correctional Facility, where people from outside the prison join inmates as participants and as leaders. Volunteers can participate in full weekend workshops, one-day workshops, and weekly support groups.
