Pasqueflower, Anemone patens at McKnight Prairie

The pasqueflower, Anemone patens, is the first native prairie flower to bloom in the spring. The lavender-tinged ground-hugging blooms appear in early to mid April on the McKnight Prairie hilltops, sometimes poking through late spring snowfall.
