This workshop is designed for private landowners and volunteers to learn the basics of prescribed burning in grassland situations. Participants will learn about the role of fire in habitat management, basic prescribed burning methods, and will apply some methods in the field to hone their skills. A morning classroom session will be followed by an afternoon prescribed burn in the field (weather permitting).
To register, fill out the registration form and send it and your payment (checks only) to the Arboretum. There is a charge of $20.00 for this workshop to cover materials. A coffee/tea break will be provided; participants must provide their own lunch.
You must be 18 years of age to participate in this workshop. All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to participating in the training burn.
