A workshop to familiarize landowners and volunteers with prescribed burning techniques in grasslands. Sponsored jointly by the Carleton College Cowling Arboretum and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

This workshop is designed for private landowners and volunteers to learn the basics of prescribed burning in grassland situations. Participants will learn about the role of fire in habitat management, basic prescribed burning methods, and will apply some methods in the field to hone their skills. A morning classroom session will be followed by an afternoon prescribed burn in the field (weather permitting).
Registration materials will be posted here by March 1. There will be a charge of $20.00 for this workshop. A coffee/tea break will be provided; participants must provide their own lunch.
