Lyman Lakes and the Cannon River are home to many fish species. These species are most commonly seen at the end of a fisherman’s pole, but if you stand on the bridges over Lyman Lakes, or watch closely enough from the river bank you may be able to see a few of them as they glide though the water. For more information on fish of Minnesota and fishing regulations in the area, visit the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources page on fish. The following list of species has been compiled from fish surveys conducted by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR) in 1983 and 2010.
