Second Language Writing Support
The mission of the Second Language Writing program is to provide writing support and guidance to Carleton's second- language students, and to help them develop as independent writers and thinkers. Students who identify themselves as having a primary language other than English may work one-on-one with a trained and experienced writing tutor who will be available to provide writing support for one to three hours per week. Second-language writing tutors work as facilitators, collaborating with writers at any stage of the writing process, and provide feedback on content, form, and language.
If you are a second-language writer and believe you might benefit from working individually with a writing tutor, email Renata Fitzpatrick, Second Language Writing Coordinator, call her at x5998, or stop by her office in 201 Scoville.
If you have students who might benefit from working individually with a writing tutor, please email, call, or click here to learn more about how you can refer a student to the Second Language Writing program online.
Visit the Second Language Writing Tutors website to submit reflective reports about tutoring experiences and strategies and participate in a forum for sharing ideas, questions and announcements, and links with the other tutors.
