ESL Tutoring
Carleton's ESL Mission Statement
The mission of the Academic Support Center's ESL program is to provide writing support and guidance to Carleton's second language students, and to help them develop as independent writers and thinkers. Students who identify themselves as non-native speakers of English may work one-on-one with a trained and experienced writing tutor who will be available to provide writing support for one to three hours per week. ESL tutors work as facilitators, collaborating with writers at any stage of the writing process, and provide feedback on language form and content.
Students
If you are a second-language writer and believe you might benefit from working individually with a writing tutor, contact Gene Bauer, ESL Coordinator.
Faculty
If you have students who might benefit from working individually with a writing tutor, learn more about how you can refer a student to the ESL program online.
