Advising Signup on Moodle Scheduler

Tuesday, October 20, 2009
By cborn

Hi all,

At this time of year, there's only one topic that seems appropriate: How to schedule Advisees.

Moodle has a lovely module called Scheduler that is essentially an online signup sheet.  Request your very own Advising Moodle site from at@carleton.edu, and you can add a Scheduler from the Add an Activity menu.

Set time slots, choose to send an Email Reminder to students, and you are good to go!

For more information, check out <https://apps.carleton.edu/campus/at/acad_documentation/moodle/activities/scheduler/>.  Or contact your favorite AT for help.

Notes:

  • Once your Advising Moodle site is created, you'll need to 'enroll' your Advisees yourself via the Assign Roles function.
  • The Advising site can be re-used year after year, it does not get archived away like course sites do.
  • You can use an Advising Moodle site to communicate other information to your Advisees, such as your regular office hours, and links to important information.
