Using Hot Potatoes quizzes in Moodle:

1. Click “Add an activity” and choose “Hot Potatoes Quiz” from the menu that appears.
2. Give the quiz a name and summary.
3. Assign opening and closing dates for the quiz, if desired.
4. Click “Choose or upload a file…”
   1. Click “Upload a file”
   2. Click “Browse…”
   3. Find the file and click “Open”
   4. Click “Upload this file”
5. If the file is already uploaded, skip to step 6. If not, upload the file:
6. Click “Choose” next to the file name.
   1. Allow Review: Choose “Yes” to let students review their results after the quiz closes.
   2. Maximum Grade: This is the number of points the quiz is worth.
   3. Grading Method: Choose the grade that will be recorded if you allow more than one attempt at the quiz.
   4. Attempts Allowed: Choose how many times a student may retake the quiz.
7. Choose grading settings for the quiz:
