Administration Block

As a course participant, you will normally only see two links under this heading.  The Grades link will take you to a page which displays your grades for the course to date, where appropriate.  The Edit Profile link will take you to your profile maintenance page. Note that your profile is global and not specific to each course, so any changes made here will be effective throughout Moodle@Carleton.

However, as a Teacher or privileged participant in a course, there are many more features available.  You will see the following links:
-Turn editing on/off
: Simple toggle that turns on (or off) all the basic editing functions on the course page itself
-Settings : Where you change the appearance of the course, allow students to see their grades, etc.
-Assign roles : Add or remove people to your course, as students, teachers, TAs
-Grades : Input student grades, change scales, edit your assignment categories
-Groups : Turn on or off Groups, split students into groups
-Backup : Create a backup of your course page, that you can download and later import into a new course (useful for courses in Archive)
-Restore : How to upload and then recreate a course page from a downloaded course backup
-Import : Bring files, activities and more from an active course you are a teacher in to another course
-Reports
: Let's you view logs and activity reports to see who has done what recently
-Questions : All the Questions you have created for Quizzes, let's you organize them and share questions with other teachers as you choose
-Files : Contains all the files you upload for a course, and ways to organize and upload files
