Moodle Museum
There has been a fair amount of talk around campus about a Moodle Museum. Currently, we are working on setting up a basic way for professors to look at other course pages and see what others have done. It is still in it's most basic form, and we are still figuring out the best ways to set things up so that it is easy for interested faculty members to look at the other sites, and also submit their own sites to be put in the Museum.
If you have any suggestions or questions, let us know!
To Access the Museum
Currently, the Moodle Museum is a Moodle site with links to actual Moodle course pages that have been created for courses here at Carleton, and generously donated by the professors that created them. These pages have been stripped of student data, but with everything else intact, so most features should be operational. You can enroll in as many of the courses as you like and browse whatever you find useful. You can find the site at https://moodle.carleton.edu/course/view.php?id=9991
When you arrive at the site, you will need to enter the password and any subsequent site that you visit in the museum will require the same password to be entered. Once you are done looking at a site, you can unenroll by clicking the "unenroll me" button in the Administration section.
Donating a Course
If you are interested in donating to the Moodle Museum, fill out this form with your name, course number, term the course was taught, and a few words about what prospective visitors might find interesting, or what you would like to draw attention to on your page.
We are seeking contributions from a wide variety of disciplines that show different features of Moodle in use in actual Carleton courses. So, please don't be shy about contributing (or nominating your colleagues for potential donations). If you have questions you can contact Chico Zimmerman (czimmerm@carleton.ed) or an AT (at@carleton.edu).
Thanks to all who contribute!
What happens when I submit a course?
When you fill out the form to submit a course, one of the Academic Technologists will create a copy of the course you submit, stripping it of all participants and user data to protect student privacy. They will then create a link to the copy within the Museum webpage, and add any information you provided about the course to the Museum underneath the link. At some point, this process may be automated or improved, but for now, don't be surprised if your submitted course takes a day or two to appear on the Museum page!
