Linking to a File or Web Site
Links are always useful, and if there is an article that you want your students to read, or a website that you think they should see, or a file that you want them to have...adding a link in the weekly schedule is probably the way to do it.
Creating a Link
General
Give your link a name, and a brief summary. Make the summary as brief as possible; it will appear next to the link, and you probably don't want to include everything about the link before your students even see it.
Link to a file or web site
If you are linking to a file that is currently on Moodle, click "Choose or upload a file", and locate the file. Click the "Choose" link next to the file.

If you are linking to a file that is currently on your computer, click "Choose or upload a file", then click the "Upload a file" button (bottom right). Hit Browse, locate the file on your computer, and click "Upload this file." You will be returned to the "Files" site. To finish uploading, click the "Choose" link next to the file that you just uploaded from your computer.
If you are linking to a web site, you can click on "Search for web pages", or you can just copy and paste the link directly into the "Location" bar.
NOTE: It is no longer possible to link directly to ereserves. Hopefully that will change soon!
Window
This sets whether your link opens in the same browser window ("Same window"), or causes the browser to open a new window ("New window").
Parameters
To edit these, click "Show Advanced."
Common module settings
When you are ready for your students to see the link, set Visible to "Show." If you are still editing the link, set it to "Hide", and it will not show up on the student site.
