Learn four of the lesser known Moodle Resources that are relatively quick to set up, but provide high return on your Moodle investment. The workshop will cover the basics of Scheduler, Forums, Choice, and the manipulation of Blocks on the course page.

There are tips and tricks which are not easily discoverable on your own that we’re eager to share with you. These will help you work at home, in the office, on the road and on your handheld. Making Friends with your Computer, Part I
The key to using your computer is comfort! Learn how to make your computer fit you and not the other way around. In this workshop we'll discuss the built-in options of Windows and Macintosh that you can leverage to make your computer suit your working style and needs. We'll also discuss spend time on ergonomic issues, including information on alternative keyboards and mice.
Making Friends with your Computer, Part II
A follow up to the first workshop in this mini series, Part II gets into the nitty gritty of learning how to use your computer efficiently. Now that you're comfortable, we'll discuss how you find the way of working that makes it easier and more efficient (in time and energy) for you to complete your day to day tasks. Come to one or both of these workshops to improve your working relationship with your computer.
Moodle Assignments and Gradebook
This workshop will be an overview of the various types of assignments and how they can integrate into the Moodle gradebook. We will cover Assignments (both online and offline) and Quizzes in a brief overview on how they work and interact with the gradebook. We will also discuss how to use the gradebook feature of Moodle, even when some of your assignments are offline (on paper or subjective).
Moodle Showcase
As a kick-off to the 1st Carleton Moodle Day, Academic Technologies will be hosting this digital poster session of Moodle sites on campus. We're inviting Moodle site administrators to come display their wares, to discuss the organization of their site, why they choose to do that and how well it worked. Most presenters will be faculty with course sites, but there will also be other examples of how to use Moodle as a collaborative tool in any context. This session is open to anyone and you can drop by at any time. We will be using the poster session format in that you are welcome to wander throughout the room talking to presenters and exhanging ideas. This session is the kick off to a number of Moodle workshops throughout the day, we hope you can join us!
On the Road: Getting and Staying Connected in Airports, Hotels and Coffee Shops
Many portable electronic devices have wireless capabilities (WiFi) to access email and the Internet. And now, many airports, hotels and coffee shops have WiFi services, often for free. In this session, we'll help show you how to configure a cell phone, PDA or laptop to use WiFi connections while you're on the road.

Unlock the power of Excel to make grade management easier! This workshop will start by using a gradebook template, and go through the basic formulas for calculating basic grades, weighted grades and extra points. Or learn enough to create your own gradebook template!
