Student work

The following information will assist you in preparing for your student work experience at Carleton College.

Student work assignments are coordinated by the Student Financial Services Office. All students will be notified of their student work assignment in July or August.

Once you have received your student work assignment(s) you will need to complete a series of payroll related forms. The payroll related forms must be completed before you can start work. Watch for the student work table in Great Space during New Student Week, in the Rec Center during the Academic Fair or visit the Payroll Department located in the Business Office at 110 Leighton Hall to complete your payroll forms.

Note: All payroll related data must be certified with original documents by the Carleton Payroll Department- DO NOT MAIL YOUR FORMS OR DOCUMENTS, bring original documents with you to campus.

Withholding Exemption - Personal Exemption

I-9 Form

Department of Homeland Security Employment Eligibility Verification: you will be expected to present one original document from List A or one original document from List B and one original from List C as listed in the attachment.

Note: The I-9 Form must be completed in person with the Carleton Payroll Department.

Direct Deposit Authorization Form

All students must have a checking or savings account for direct deposit. You will need to attach a voided check to the Direct Deposit Authorization Form for validation of your bank ABA and bank account number. A sample only copy of the Direct Deposit Authorization Form is available to view in the attachment.
