Contact Student Financial Services for Student Jobs

Student work assignments are coordinated by the Student Financial Services Office. All students will be notified of their student work assignments in July or August.

Once you have received your student work assignment(s) you will need to complete a series of payroll related forms. The payroll related forms must be completed before you can start work. The forms must be completed in the Payroll Office (Leighton 110) which is located in the Business Office in Leighton Hall.

Withholding Exemption - Personal Exemption

I-9 Form
Department of Homeland Security Employment Eligibility Verification: you will be expected to present one original document from List A or one original document from List B and one original document from List C as listed in the attachment. Note: The I-9 Form must be completed in person with the Carleton Payroll Department.

Payroll Bank Account
Direct Deposit Authorization Form
All students must have a domestic U.S. checking or savings account for direct deposit of payroll earnings. Please enter checking or savings account information carefully @ THE HUB referencing either your check book or information from your financial institution.  

Student Payroll Tuition Authorization Form
Student who wish to have all or a portion of their student employment earnings applied to their tuition account must complete a Student Payroll Tuition Authorization Form.

Note: All payroll related data must be certified with original documents by the Carleton Payroll Department - DO NOT MAIL YOUR FORMS OR DOCUMENTS, bring original documents with you to campus.

Carleton recommends all students bring a VALID PASSPORT to campus. A valid passport is the most efficient method of employment eligibility verification.

Can my student work earnings be applied to my tuition account to pay for part of my tuition?

Yes, students can complete the Student Payroll Tuition Authorization Form to apply work earnings towards their tuition bill.

Work earnings will be credited as a line item "Payroll Deduction" on your tuition account every two weeks, as you work the hours during the term. Students must work before earnings can be applied to their tuition account. The percent of your allowed term work earnings, according to your Financial Aid Award, that you wish to apply to tuition, can be subtracted from the balance owing for the term.

Students can change the percentage of work earnings that go to your tuition account by completing the Student Payroll Tuition Authorization Form.
