Mai/Juin Fete (The Concert, not the Island)
Wanna be a rock star? Historically, campus bands have taken to the stage on the last day of classes Spring Term! Campus Activities, Social Program Board, and Dining Services sponsor an afternoon carnival featuring food, games, and live music performed by student bands. Sign your band up in Campus Activities during Spring Term. (And why is it sometimes Mai Fete and sometimes Juin Fete? Well, If the last day of classes is in May, it is Mai Fete. If the last day is in June, it's Juin Fete.)

Midwinter Ball
Glitz and glamour at Carleton! A tradition over 25 years strong, Midwinter Ball is held on the Saturday night of Mid Term Break Weekend during Winter Break. Past themes for the semi-formal event include "Hollywood Cinema," "Outer Space," and "Mythological Madness." Mid Winter Ball features three music venues in Sayles-Hill and Sevy ranging from swing, big band, and rock/hip hop. Get out your feather boas and dancin' shoes, daahling!

End of Term Coffeehouses
There's no such thing as a free lunch, but free coffee breaks exist and happen right here at Carleton! During finals, Campus Activities sponsors free coffee houses in Great Space featuring coffee, tea, cocoa, and baked snacks, board games and pleasant music. When preparing for those finals gets you down, stop in and let the refreshments revive your body--and let the good company revive your spirit.

Fall Fest
Each October Campus Activities joins forces with local orchards and brings a free taste of fall to the Carleton campus. When fall's in full swing, watch for Fall Fest for all-you-can eat Caramel Apples and hot apple cider.

Making Your Ideas Into Reality
So do you have something that you really want to do? Ever thought it’d be a really good idea to have a watermelon eating contest? What about a pinball tournament? Fashion show? Masquerade Ball? Story writing contest? Trip to the cities to see monster trucks or Kenny G, or the Twins? Trip to Giza to see the pyramids? Well, stop by Campus Activities to see if we have any helpful hints. Chances are that we will.

Metro Arts Access Events
What do Phish, Ralph Nader, Oumou Sangare, and the hit Broadway musical "Rent" all have in common? Each was a special event in the Twin Cities that Carleton students wanted to attend. So? There are lots of cool events happening in the Twin Cities. What makes these special? By applying for the Metro Arts Access Fund, Carleton students received funding for their transportation to these events, making it cheaper and easier to go! For more information, click on Metro Arts Access Fund. Stop by Campus Activities to get an application.

Crafty Tabling
Unleash your creativity at one of the various craft projects that Campus Activites offers for students. Examples include miniature jack-o-lanterns and decorated masks for Halloween, personalized sugar cookies for Valentine's Day, and hemp jewelry making lessons with a local jewelry artist. Contact the Campus Activities office for information on upcoming activities.

Stress Free Zones
During the Winter and Spring terms, life can get pretty intense around campus. We can't make it stop, but we can try to provide a space free of all the hustle and bustle. Watch for our stress free zones for your chance for a free massage, aromatherapy, and other relaxation techniques.

New Student Week
Every fall, when new students arrive at Carleton, it's time to introduce them to the ways of college, Carleton, and Northfield. And so the new students arrive a week before the upperclassmen to learn their way around campus, learn who to talk to when doors aren't working, class schedules aren't gelling, ankles hurt, and when that cute kid down the hall won't give them the time of day. Most importantly, they get a chance to get used to the college experience and each other, without worrying about the stress of classes, papers, homework, etc. If you want to know more about New Student Week, visit Campus Activites in Sayles-Hill 150.
